Climate Disaster Project is coordinated at the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Fine Arts in its Department of Writing. Established in September 2021 with the generous support of businessman and philanthropist Wayne C. Crookes, our teaching newsroom includes faculty and students at post-secondary institutions around the world.

We acknowledge many of us live and work on the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples. We also acknowledge that colonialism has contributed to climate change and resulted in Indigenous peoples being among the first and worst impacted by climate change. In making this acknowledgement, we commit to Indigenizing our practices and addressing the past, present, and future wrongs of colonialism.
